Name: Haskovitz Harold "Butz" Haskovitz Haskovitz
Harold "Butz" Haskovitz, age 77 of St. Louis Park. Born and raised
in N. Mpls, lost his only battle in life on 5/2/03. Preceded in death by his
courageous son, Barrie; parents, Becky and Jacob Haskvitz; niece, Diana
Chazin Levitt; and sister-in-law, RoseLee Haskovitz. Survived by loving wife
and best friend of 51 years, Shirley; beloved father, partner and mentor to
son, Jack; unbreakable bond with daughters, Becky and Julie; greatest Zada in
the world to Mirit and Max. Also survived by sister and brother-in-law,
Delores and Milton Chazin; brother, Sidney Haskovitz; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Darlene and Nathan Schwartz, Marcia, Arlyn, Jan, Sheldon,
Sam Pomush and Aunt Lea Charniss and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close
friends. He truly loved and respected every one of them. He was a man who
never measured his wealth in dollars but in the family and friendships he
made during his life. He proudly served his country during WWII as a fighting
Seabee. He was one of the few, courageous survivors of the first wave of the
battle of Iwo Jima, witnessing the famous raising of the flag on Mount Suribachi.
An active member of Tifereth B'nai Jacob and B'nai Emet Synagogues. Member of
Masons and B'nai B'rith, an every day staple of the morning workout crew at
the JCC Health Club; a regular of the morning breakfast group from the Old
Northside. Founder and owner of H & H TV and Electronics since 1955.
Former owner of Jack's Bar in N. Mpls. Founder and Past President of the MN
Electronics Dealers Association, former member of the St. Louis Park Cable
Commission. Funeral services SUNDAY (TODAY) 1PM B'NAI EMET SYNAGOGUE, 3115
Ottawa Ave S., St. Louis Park. SHIVA 8143 Westwood Hills Dr. at 7:30pm thru
Thursday (morning and evening services will be held at B'nai Emet through
Thursday at 7:30am and 5:45pm daily). In lieu of flowers, memorials are
preferred to the donor's favorite charity. The family wishes to convey their
deepest gratitude to all the nurses, doctors, surgeons, clergy, family,
friends and the Allina Hospice Family for their help and support during this
period of unimaginable pain and grief. A special thanks to Dr. Stuart Borken
